A Wonderful Christmas Program

Over the weekend we went to Winston-Salem to watch the Christmas play at Grace Baptist Temple. Dustin's family attends church there, and every year they have a fabulous Christmas production. Last year Dustin's Mom had a big solo, and this year his Dad had a big solo. They are both incredible singers, and it is so great to hear them belt it out! Kayla was also part of a song. Everyone did a wonderful job and truly kept the focus on the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Christ.

The play was based on a story similar to Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Story." A young man was caught up in the temporal aspect of Christmas (money, etc.). An angel came and took him through scenes from history, hence the many styles of costumes you will see below. At the end he gets to witness the shepherds and wise men visiting Jesus after His birth, and he realizes that there is a much deeper meaning to Christmas. Here are a few snapshots.

The costumes were amazing!
Dustin's mom is on the far right. His dad is on the back row, middle-right, wearing brown. A dear friend, Nancy Clay, is on the bottom row on the left.
At the end of the show. Dustin mom is near the back with the silver shirt. "Pops" doing a great job!
Dustin's Mom... Doesn't she look sweet?
Dustin's Dad mastering his solo

One of Dustin's sisters, Kayla, is on the second row in the middle. I wish I had a brighter picture, but I didn't want to use the flash!
Dustin's mom was supposed to be a snooty aristocrat during this scene.
I realize each time we visit how thankful I am for wonderful, godly in-laws. They mean so much to Dustin and to me.
