Visitors in the Back Yard

On Saturday night I looked out the window and saw a group of deer grazing in the back pasture. They were so beautiful. They heard me walk out onto the porch and they looked at me as I took pictures. After a few minutes the deer in the front of the pack stomped his foot twice and made a shrill call and they all took off running. When they got to the edge of the woods they stopped again and looked at me. Then I heard another shrill call and all I could see was about 50 white tails jumping into the forest and running. I couldn't believe how many there were. Apparently there were a lot of them at the edge of the woods! It was so loud, like a stampede of deer! Unfortunately Dustin wasn't home at the time, so I was glad I got some good pictures.

The Snake!

We see alot of nature around our house. Since we are surrounded by woods, there are all kinds of creatures around us. We love it! Dustin was working out in the front yard on Friday and he found a CORN SNAKE! I was shocked when he walked up to the front door with this thing in his hands. The snake was really neat, and he had a beautiful design. It's ironic that the snake was really neat to me, but when a lizard got into the house yesterday I thought I was going to throw up!

Living in the Country!

We love to take bike rides and hike through the woods behind our house. Here are some pictures of the stream back in the woods. It is beautiful and romantic!

Sophie

Here are some pictures of our kitty, Sophie. We found her on Craigslist! She is a himalayan, about 3 years old, declawed, spayed, litter-box trained, and best of all she was FREE! She is very sweet and we have enjoyed having a little friend running around the house. She loves to lay on the arm of the couch, play with her feather toy, eat treats, and sit on the window ledge. When we got her she had not been brushed in a very long time. Her hair was so matted and tangled that it was impossible to brush it. The knots were so tight in some places that they pulled at her skin, making it painful for her to be touched. So that is why all her hair is shaved off in the pictures. She looks like a little tiger!

Welcome Friends!

Welcome to our new blog! I always enjoy looking at the blogs of my friends and family, and I have wished many times that I could show off some really neat pictures and share what's going on in our lives. So I decided to start blogging! It is so fun for me to sit down at the computer and see what is going on in the lives of those I love, and I hope that you enjoy seeing what's happening on our side of the fence.
