Summer Vacation 2007

For our vacation this year we went to Brevard for the first half of the week, and then to West Jefferson for the second half of the week. We both came down with terrible colds/sinus infections on the day we left home, so we were feeling really bad during most of the week. On the days that we felt well enough to leave our room we hiked to up a waterfall, and found some pretty roadside streams. Of course we also followed our vacation tradition of taking silly and serious pictures of ourselves. We also got caught in a big hailstorm, which was crazy! You'll see the picture of the hail above. One of our favorite parts of the week was walking through the streets of several towns in the mountains, and looking in the stores and galleries. We really liked Hendersonville and downtown Brevard. We had a great time together despite being sick.

Where We Stayed (vacation)

We stayed at The Pines Country Inn. It is a sweet Bed and Breakfast in Brevard, NC. We have stayed there before, and we decided to visit it again this year. We had a great time. The big white house is the actual inn where we would go every morning for a big home-cooked breakfast. We got to stay in the Gatehouse. It was a two-bedroom cabin that we got all to ourselves. We loved it. One of the best parts of the inn was that there were no TV's. We had so much fun just talking, reading, playing games, and laughing. Unfortunately we also spent lots of time taking medicines, coughing, sneezing, aching, and sleeping. But at least we had a great view of the mountains!

Pictures From the Top of Whitewater Falls (vacation)

One day we were well enough to hike to the top of our favorite waterfall, Whitewater Falls. It amazing to be at the top of a waterfall!! You can't tell how high up we are from the pictures. It was a blast.
